Stash2Go II is a cross-platform app that works standalone with a Google account or connected to Ravelry (the world's largest knitting and crochet community with 10M+ members). It provides mobile and web access to pattern search, yarn stash management, project tracking, needle and hook management, forums, and crafting tools that go far beyond what Ravelry.com offers on mobile.

The app was completely rewritten in React Native in 2025 and receives updates every 1-2 weeks. As of April 2026, version 1.23 is the current release (released April 4, 2026). Version 1.24 is upcoming.

Sharing on iOS changed to a more reliable copy-and-paste option — tapping Share now copies the project title, designer, and Ravelry link, then shows a confirmation. Project sharing on Android fixed to include the Ravelry link along with the project title.

Forum scrolling improved so threads with rich embeds feel smoother. Text selection and copy support added for forum posts through a copy icon. Trending forum topics card shows popular threads in Ravelry Forums, updated every 24 hours.

### Designer Detail
Tapping a designer's Instagram, Facebook, or other social media link on the Designer Detail screen now opens correctly on iOS.

### Remaining Yarn Balance
Remaining balance calculated per stash entry by deducting yarn allocated to projects. See how much yarn is actually available for a new project instead of just total stash amounts.

### Project Parts & Sections
Projects now support named parts or sections, each with its own independent set of row counters. Add project parts from the row counters screen or select a prepared garment type like sweater. In the PDF viewer, tap "+" to add a project part and assign counters, markers, and notes to specific sections.

### Home Screen Widgets
A variety of widgets for placing buttons, patterns, searches, and more directly on the phone or iPad home screen. See active project progress, recent activity, or stash highlights at a glance without opening the app.

### Finished Project Highlight

Start using Stash2Go with just your Google account. Create projects, manage your stash, track needles and hooks — no Ravelry account needed. Connect Ravelry later when you're ready, and your data migrates automatically (projects, stash, needles, tools, pinned searches). Migration is safe to retry, existing Ravelry data stays untouched.

### Needles & Hooks Manager
Track your complete knitting needle and crochet hook collection. Import from Ravelry or add directly in the app. Size charts, conversion tables for standard, tiny, and steel hook sizes. Assign tools to projects.

### PDF Share Sheet

### Manual Yarn Shop Entry
Add yarn shops that aren't listed on Ravelry. Enter a shop website URL — Stash2Go auto-detects the shop name, address, and contact info from the page. Or search by name via Google Places. Submitted shops are geocoded and appear on the map for everyone.

### Gauge Toolkit (unified)
Combined Gauge Swatch calculator and Pattern Adapter in a single tabbed screen. Instant live results as you type, needle size recommendations, help text for beginners, two-column layout on tablets, personal gauge library. ### Forum Trends on Discover
New section on the Discover tab surfaces trending topic clusters from Ravelry forums. The backend scans the 8 most active forums daily, clusters recent topics by theme using an LLM, and shows the top clusters. Tap a cluster to see its topics with unread post counts (same as regular forum topic cards). Seven-day rolling window.

### Finished Project Highlight
Share a completed project as a polished image card. Open a finished project, choose "Share Highlight" from the action menu, and a preview modal shows a shareable card with the hero photo, project name, pattern, craft, completion date, yarn, needles, and Stash2Go branding. On native the image goes through the system share sheet; on web it downloads as PNG.

### Is there an official Ravelry app?
No. Ravelry does not have an official mobile app. Stash2Go II is the most complete third-party Ravelry app.

### Is Stash2Go free?
Yes. All core features are free (pattern search, projects, stash, forums, messages, yarn search, shop finder, gauge calculator, statistics). Premium (subscription or one-time lifetime purchase) adds Smart Reader, unlimited counters, offline mode, and removes ads. No nag screens or feature-gating.

### What about "Legacy Stash2Go"?
Legacy Stash2Go is the old native iOS/Android app, now discontinued. Stash2Go II is the current app, completely rewritten in React Native in 2025.
